Domaine du Pavillon de Chavannes Cuvée des Ambassades Côte de Brouilly Gamay 2015

Very light red. Complex, incisive scents of fresh red berries, blood orange, allspice and candied rose, lifted by a smoky mineral nuance. Juicy raspberry, cherry and spicecake flavors are accented by a hint of white pepper; bitter orange pith and rhubarb qualities lend refreshing bitterness. Gains depth on the very long, penetrating finish, which features sneaky, fine-grained tannins. Josh Raynolds, Vinous Media

great cherrie nose, a bit of VA too, some meaty notes, irony, leather notes in the palate, cedar box, great acid again, licorice. everything well integrated with smooth leathery finish. on a second revisit, very briny notes, too umami

Straightforward classic Cote de Brouilly. Piercing aromas of crushed rock and crunchy cherry. Dry, lively, minerally, and cleansing in the mouth. Very good acids for a '15. No great depth or complexity, but a nice hot summer day red.

Earthy with stones and minerals. Great fruit. I couldn't place one component in the nose. After d while it hit me- burning coal and peat. Reminded me of walking around Dublin in the colder months.

A very good value. Nose has jumpy, tangy gamay cherry fruit, a spry feral component, and, of course, granitic minerality. Firm and lively, and fairly light-feeling, it's got ripe fresh fruit and loads of powdered stones in the mouth. Even a tad bit of tannin in the fresh finish. Nice!

Good wine, just not the style and flavor I enjoy best.

Sour cherries, a touch of spice, but fairly simple. Easy drinking chillable wine. 12.5%
