The 2014 Las Gras Moutons from Domaine de la Pepiere is a young and very promising bottle of Muscadet... The deep, pure and very fresh nose offers up a constellation of green apple, salty ocean breeze notes, really refined leesiness, straw and a beautifully complex base of minerally soil tones. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied, focused and rock solid at the core, with superb backend grip,perfectly integrated acids and outstanding balance on the very long finish. Always a favorite. The '14 is subdued aromatically right now, but the palate is showing where it will go in a few years. Bright and briny, with spice and stone in the background. Right now the wine is about texture and structure, but should age into a real beauty.
