Forward and lush for the vintage, with dark currant and fig paste flavors backed by licorice, coffee, garrigue and braised beef notes. The long, smoky finish has a lingering touch of mesquite. Concentrated and definitely mature with rich, ripe and sweet scents of dried figs, pan-fried anise seeds and roasted herbs. While fading, this does carry a core of concentration and very soft tannins, so better to drink sooner than later. Well made but slightly boring and flabby.
