Domaine Bachelet Vieilles Vignes Gevrey-Chambertin Pinot Noir 2005

$135

...offers lovely black fruit aromas with hints of anise and mint. A truly palate-staining intensity of vividly-fresh, tart but ripe black cherry and blackberry is underlain by firm, fine tannins...this outstanding village wine still comes off as juicy, sleek, invigorating and refined. Put it away for at least 5-7 years... Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

Beautiful. Needed some time in decanter, and still a bit closed, but subtle nuisances of fruit and earth were well integrated and I was more than happy to keep sipping!

Brooding, depth and intensity. Still pretty primary. Seems young and has lots of time

Definitely not a fruit bomb but nuanced cherry and dark fruit flavors emerging from the structured rather tight wine. Not sure if it will improve with further aging.

An absolutely stunning wine! Vintage 2005. A stunning nose, full of cherries and minerality. Earthy, fresh and tasting vibrantly youthful. On the palate a follow thru of the nose, with great acidity, charming notes of red cherries and a touch of darker fruit! Truly a remarkable wine.
