Dalla Valle Vineyards Maya 2013

$615

The flagship wine, and one of the first in Napa Valley to emphasize the fabulous potential of Cabernet Franc in specific terroirs, is the 2013 Maya Proprietary Red Wine... The 2013 could well be the finest they’ve made to date, and that includes a lot of profound wines. An incredibly complex nose of charcoal embers, blackberry and cassis, some blueberries as well as white flowers, and a touch of forest floor is followed by a full-bodied wine with sweet, well-integrated tannins, a multi-dimensional mouthfeel, and a finish that goes on for close to a minute. This is absolutely remarkable wine – powerful, dense, but at the sane time, precise and elegant. It’s hard to believe, but I think this wine can probably age and improve for 25-40 years. Don’t miss it if you have access to it. Robert Parker

A total stunner. Intensely aromatic and super expressive, the 2013 Maya has never been so finessed. Dazzling.

A baby. Don't even touch for five more years. However, this is serious wine and will be a Maya for the ages. Kudos Andy.

Elegant for the vintage. Would love to try the big brother in the same vintage.

Blackberry pie with a chocolate nutty crust. Tannins are still too grippy, therefore I recommend hiding this bottle for another four to six years. Going to be awwwwesome!

Way too young! After double decanting and sitting for an hour, the fruit started to surface. Petroleum and leather on the initial nose, super tight and grippy tannins. The fruit does surface, a bouquet of dark berries, bakers chocolate and structure. Sit on this for another decade.
