Château Pavie Macquin Saint-Émilion Red Bordeaux Blend 2005

Inky bluish/purple in color, Pavie Macquin produced a prodigious effort from St.-Emilion in 2005. Its crushed, chalky rock minerality, massive body, and high tannin make for a wine to forget for another decade. Super-loaded, concentrated and powerful, this wine should turn out great, but patience will be required. The blackberry and cassis fruit are there in abundance, but so is a massive structure. (17/20) Вино с букетом ароматов джема из чёрных ягод, чернослива, кедра и черного перца, в развитии появляется нота йода. Тельное с довольно высокой кислотностью и интенсивными танинами. Продолжительное послевкусие. Великолепно!

Perfect cork, perfect fill, perfect label. Imperfect wine. Tasted like dead prunes and raisins... Slightly cooked and flawed. What a shame.
