Château Lynch-Bages Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 1982 (1500ml)

9.478 ratings on Delectable
$895

This is another Lynch Bages that has never gone through an awkward, disjointed stage where it completely shut down. The color remains a dense ruby with some lightening at the edge. Thick, juicy, succulent notes of creme de cassis intermixed with dried herbs, vanillin, minerals, and anise leap from the glass. Fleshy and full-bodied, with the vintage's voluptuous texture and low acid, fruit/glycerin-dominated flavors well-displayed in its full-bodied personality, this wine tastes young, but is also ready to drink. Anticipated maturity: now-2015. Robert Parker

Really love where this wine is right now. So, so good for the money

Decanted and drank over 2 hours. So much evolution in the glass. Ripe, weighty mid palate. Couldn't really be any better.

Had the '85 the other day, this is a beautiful bottle yes, but I think the '85 out performs it, there's a classic '82 richness to it, but the fruit is starting to fade away a little.
