Château Léoville Barton Saint-Julien Red Bordeaux Blend 1990

$235

Believe it or not, the 1990 Leoville Barton can actually be drunk - something that cannot be said about the broodingly backward, still excruciatingly tannic 1982. The exceptionally concentrated 1990 reveals more polished, sweeter tannins along with a big, sweet kiss of black currant, forest floor, cedar, and spice box notes. While it still has some tannins to shed, this full-bodied, powerful, long wine is approachable. It should continue to evolve for another two decades. Robert Parker

Classic intensity of '90, between '89 & '90 two of my favorite drinking Bordeaux right now.

Pretty legendary tonight. Perfect integration. Light, herbaceous, and very refined.

Not quite as sensational as our bottle in February due to storage differences. Cooked fruit of; rhubarb, raspberries, strawberries, dusty crush stones, leather, dark vanilla barrel toast, black earth and pebbles, black tea, hint of mushroom. Finishes soft and elegant with just a touch of funk. Hope you all enjoyed Christmas!!!

This wine is still a stunner after 25 years. Soft blue and black fruits, savoy black earth, vanilla, relaxed wood. Complete heavenly integration and evolution. Thanks Anthony.

90 Barton started out insane, fell apart a bit after about a half hour to an hour of air contact, but none the less a fantastic bottle!
