Château Lascombes Margaux Merlot Blend 2009

$145

...The wine has a beautiful blueberry-scented nose with hints of acacia flowers, licorice, graphite and some subtle charcoal and background oak. Clearly a modern style of Margaux, it is pure, seamless, full-bodied and opulent, and the high glycerin and silky texture of 2009 are brilliantly displayed in this wine. Drink it over the next 15+ years, although it is certainly capable of lasting well past two decades. Robert Parker

Luscious, dense and unabashedly sexy. Milk chocolate and dark red fruit on a big, round frame. Yummy.

Enjoyed this way more than I thought I would. Deep color, explosive earthy nose, spicy, black currant, tannic. Still drinking very young. Bravo!

1.5 hour decant(decent chunky/fine sediment) . An amazing deep dark ruby red color. On the nose: black fruit, stewed meat, cigar box, floral, pencil shavings. Taste: modern style and at 14 years in its drinking window. Soft, but powerful, creamy, with dark plum/cherry, cedar, cocoa, earth, graphite and a medium finish. Drinks well, and looking forward to popping more bottles over the years and see where it goes.

Black fruit with olive tapenade dominate the pallet. Fragrance tickles the nose with sweet tannic structure. Long finish adds to the beauty
