Château La Lagune Haut-Médoc Red Bordeaux Blend 1996

$77.95

...Deep, enticing aromas of black raspberry, dark chocolate and spicy oak; shows an almost roasted ripeness. Big, sweet and rich; a rather powerful style of La Lagune, with urgent intensity of flavor. Lovely inner-mouth aromatics. Finishes very long, with harmonious, ripe tannins. Stephen Tanzer, Vinous Media

Really enjoyed it. Tannins smooth after sitting for an hour or so. Drinks like ages Bordeaux.

What proper claret should be when you've looked after it for 16 years after release. Still got all the cigar box and pencil shavings you could wish for but the tannins of its youth have all smoothed out to something even approaching silky. Absolutely super drop drinking beautifully right now.
