Château Gloria Saint-Julien Red Bordeaux Blend 2005

$66.95

A big-time sleeper of the vintage, this St.-Julien reveals notes of tapenade, spice box, cedar, sweet black cherries, and black currants. An opulent texture, terrific fruit, medium to full body, and abundant concentration suggest this stunning Gloria will provide plenty of pleasure over the next 15 years... Robert Parker

Drinking very nicely right. Consider decanting 2 hours in advance. Should still be in the game for 5-10 more years. 2005 vintage.

Yep. This will be great in 6-10 years! Glad I bought a case on release.

Good integration texture and freshness at this point. Improved significantly after an hour in the decanter. Other notes for 2005 seem unfairly critical. I think will improve in coming years.

Classic claret that is approaching the start of the days where 15 years of patience come to glory

A very nice surprise. Didn't know the house, but it came as a smooth taste, delicate grape flavour mixed with berries and a slight fruity feeling along with the dryness of a hight spirited wine. Served at about 12 degrees celcius in the warm humid weather of Acapulco, an excelent choice for a a festive after meal delight.

Thrilled with this vintage; really starting to bring some nice secondary angles. We reviewed this at wineweirdos.com

Soft too. No back taste. Barely bitter.

Still a baby. A big, broad shouldered baby. Huge fruit. Graphite and leather staring to show. Can do another decade with ease.
