Chappellet Pritchard Hill Estate Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

$199

The flagship wine, the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Pritchard Hill is a blend of 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Malbec, 6% Cabernet Franc and the rest Petit Verdot... This is a 40- to 50-year wine and simply compelling. Inky bluish/purple with a stunning nose of white flowers, crushed rock, blueberry, black raspberry and cassis, this is a great, great effort in this vintage... It’s very deep and full-bodied...should turn out to be a tour de force and a great offering... Robert Parker

Chappellet wine dinner. I've not had much of their wines and wanted to see if they are worth a visit when we are out for our yearly Napa trip in February! The big boy

Could be my new favorite Napa Cab! Aromatics of black fruit, tobacco, stone, cedar and baking spices. Long finish, well-balanced tannins and acidity. Paired with a prime rib, Yorkshire pudding and brussels sprouts.

Drinking a Napa Valley icon tonight! A deep ruby color with medium intensity notes of dark fruit and baking spices on the nose. Beautiful tastes of blackberry jam, black cherries, blueberries, vanilla, dark chocolate and cinnamon. Fantastically integrated wine with silky smooth sweet tannins, perfectly ripe fruit and outstanding acidity. A long, fruity finish with a little tannic mouthfeel at the end that says this wine is still very young and could be even better 25 or more years from now. WOW!

Showing very nicely for a 2013. First Chappellet Pritchard Hill and WOW is what I have to say. On a completely different level from Chappellet's other labels. Parker says don't touch but if you are in a bind this '13 is ready. However, it will be huge in a decade or two. Inky and full of berries. #pritchardhill #chappellet The flagship wine, the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Pritchard Hill is a blend of 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Malbec, 6% Cabernet Franc and the rest Petit Verdot aged 22 months in 100% new French oak. This is a 40- to 50-year wine and simply compelling. Inky bluish/purple with a stunning nose of white flowers, crushed rock, blueberry, black raspberry and cassis, this is a great, great effort in this vintage, which is not that surprising, but this youthful wine still seems in its infancy and certainly has huge upside to it. It’s very deep and full-bodied, but still coiled very tight and restrained, this should turn out to be a tour de force and a great offering in 2013. Don’t touch it for another 5-7 years.
