Bond St. Eden Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2005

$269

...extraordinary depth and palate presence is the dense ruby/purple-colored, full-bodied 2005 St. Eden. It possesses the bluer, blacker fruits that seem to come from this area of Pritchard Hill in addition to extraordinary notes of charcoal, acacia flowers, blueberry and blackberry liqueur. This seamlessly constructed 2005 is a sensational effort that is displaying even greater potential than I saw last year. It will drink beautifully for three decades. Robert Parker

This was my WOTN - this vintage is spectacular- never disappoints - Deep ruby/garnet color. Nose of dark fruits, mineral notes and anise/licorice. Palate of dark cherry, plum, currant, oak. Integrated tannins, smooth texture. A bit short on mid palate. Long, smooth finish. Tannins sweet and resolved - incredible that this wind is so ripe after 13 years With my great friend @David L and his family

Impromptu meet up at Classic! Having a relaxing Friday afternoon with good friends and good wine makes for a perfect start to a weekend! Poured blind. My guess was early to mid 2000s Napa Cab. The nose was slow to evolve at first with crushed blackberries, pencil shavings and cassis. Added some dark cocoa with time. Palate added some red fruit tart that melded really nice with black fruit. Cherry tobacco. Really nice finish and very smooth. My first Bond wine.
