Anakota Helena Dakota Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

$109

...Even as impressive, but showing more truffles, charcoal, graphite and camphor, along with blackberry and cassis, is the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Helena Dakota (1,017 cases). This wine shows even more fruit than its sibling and is bigger, bolder and slightly broader across the palate... highly recommended... brilliant effort... Robert Parker

Floral nose, with hints of ripe raspberries. Refined palete, which oozes Black cherries, coffee, and kirsch. Finishes sweet, and textured. Tannins will enable this to sail on for another 7 years or so.

Surprised at how well this showed. Sometimes age on a wine comes on its own. In this case, I’m impressed because of its ethereal demeanor. Excellent poise and balance. All fruit on the mid palate. Cherries, coffee nibs and soft brown sugar. Pure and precise with tight acidity. I wasn’t an Anakota fan, but I’m very willing to rethink that now.

Mouthwatering tannins (from both fruit and oak) but still manages to keep an amazing balance. A great wine!

Big yet light and rounded. More balanced than 2015. Dark berries underpinned with Graphite and charcoal. Tight finish. Very smooth. Josh and Debbie at Berns.

Great! Really enjoyed the notions of mocha and dark fruits.

Excellent California cab. Dark and shine violet. Dense and full bodied. Notes of vanilla and toasted wood from oak aging, blackberry and cherry. In mouth, extremelly well balanced, smooth, full bodied, great acidity and soft tannins. Again, black ripe berries, cherry, little oak, mint and intense and fresh end in mouth. Gets better after 30-45 mins, so decanting for this is highly recommended to get the best from this wine.
