Abreu Vineyards Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2008

$279

The 2008 Howell Mountain is fabulous. Blackberries, savory herbs, graphite and mint are some of the nuances that are woven together in a fabric of notable class and sheer personality. The tannins are quite firm and suggest the 2008 will require considerable patience. Readers who can wait will be treated to a superb wine... Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

At ten years old, still way too young (double decanted). Cherry red cigar box with currants. Velvety, rich structured

08 Abreu Howell Mt is about two thirds Cabernet & the rest of it is CF, PV & Merlot. This is a full-bodied powerful beast. I've had it open for 2 hours. Color dark brick red. The Intensity... just on this nose is impressive with floral & perfume. All encompasscing black frnuits. Black raspberry, blackberries, stones/bedrock...with lingering spices. The tannins are still quite firm. There will be no worries, putting this aside for another 20+ years.

The tannins were surprisingly supple. Dark cherry, plum and graphite on a soft easy going Howell Mountain. This is not the best bottle of the 2008 I have had.
