Grassy nose, citrus, some slate. Saline. Bracing acidity with a med- body. Vegetal notes ramp up on the finish. Honeydew.

Somehow it’s a hard one for blind tasting. Not apparent pyrazine component while lots of tropical fruits. The acidity is fairly moderate. Kind of flabby.

This one was getting a little geriatric, but that being said, Honig is still the Sav Blanc I measure all others up against. Green apple, grass, some mineral. Paired with an orange roughy po’ boy.

In 1964 Honig Family purchased a 68-acre vineyard in Rutherford and sold their grapes to neighboring wineries. In 1980, Honig began producing their own Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc. Straw with citrus and soft earthy herb aromas. On the palate orange and grapefruit flavors with lemongrass tones, crisp and fresh. Good mouthfeel medium finish ending with lively acidity. Nice value.

Did a taste test with this vs a much more expensive sauv Blanc to prove a point. It worked. This won. Nuff said.

A go to for my girlfriend and I, at $16-$18 per bottle. Never disappoints! Grapefruit, melon, pineapple, and lemon on the nose. Nice acidity, yet balanced. Very nice Sauv Blanc and good price point for the value.
