Clear yellow color. Aromas of green fruits, citrus (mostly lemon) and, well, Chardonnay, but savory Chardonnay. Very bright on the palate with citrusy middle notes and bitter sage. It's big-textured but not buttery; the wine did not go through ML, but was barrel-fermented and aged 10 mos. in 60% neutral and 40% new French oak, which likely accounts for the texture and gravitas. The finish is transparent. Overall this wine feels pure and refreshing, with layers of bright fruits and herbs above a savory base. Mike Grgich isn't called the King of Chardonnay for nothing. 13.5% abv | $42 (sample)

A delight to drink. Not an oak/butter bomb. Round mouth feel with peach, lush citrus fruits & mineral, citrus finish.

Love this Chardonnay with light French touch by one of California's iconic winemakers. A kiss of oak---just right.

First date with Grgich Hills. Clean and buttery but not a lot of oak. Absolutely enjoyed this and now planning on going steady

Not your typical California big buttery/oaky Chardonnay. It has Great balance with a little bit of citrus minerality.

Excellent- well balanced and simply delicious. A terrific start before Christmas Day. 2011 vintage on December 21, 2016.

Finally starting to spend more than $20 on wine. This was a good Chardonnay that paired will with a sushi lunch. Definitely one to impress some friends. Full flavor and beautiful color. Will buy again.
