Slight almond flower character, raspberry, perfumed, nice consistent mousse, hint of residual sugar, great acidity, delicious!

Saving the best bubbles for Christmas Eve and Christmas dinner. However, this Crémant d’ Alsace is no slouch. Regularly under $20 but this was under $14 at the 30% wine sale at Whole Foods. There is nice leaner black cherries, black raspberries, strawberries, cherries & watermelon near the rhine. Good gritty minerals and nice powdery chalkiness. Pink rose petals, good acidity and a decent finisher.

Bright pink color with small bubbles and light mousse top. Light Berry fruit nose. The palate shows lively acidity and sweet raspberries and tart strawberry flavors. The wine has mineral tones on the finish. Hey, a nice Rose sparkler without breaking the bank. Tasting Sample.

This Sparking is a pretty good value normally. It’s even better at the Whole Foods one day wine sale at 30% off...making it $13.99 a bottle. Hard to beat and you can’t drink Billecart Salmon Rosé all the time. Nice fruit and decent chalkiness. Especially, at that price point. This has more chalk than most California sparkling I’ve had.

What do you do when you know your out Rosé of Champagne and you’re at Whole Foods? Grab some Domaine Allimant Laugner Crémant d'Alsace. On the nose; l pink rose petals, citrus, orange rhine, watermelon, cherries, hints of strawberries, chalky minerals, limestone and spring flowers. The palate fruits are bright and leaner in style. Strawberries, raspberries, watermelon, cherries, citrus/blood orange, orange rhine, pink rose petals, limestone, nice gritty chalkiness, baguette crust, spring flowers, nice crisp acidity and good rich finish that does start to fade after about 15-20 seconds. Really nice for under $20. Producer notes and history... Nicolas Laugner featured in the photo is an 11th generation Alsatian winemaker at Domaine Allimant-Laugner that is located in northeastern region of France, Alsace. The Domaine cultivates 12 hectares of vineyards comprised on 30 distinct parcels. Their vines are situated around the village of Orschwiller; which are located between the villages of Saint Hippolyte to the south and Châtenois to the north. The Haut-Koenigsbourg Castle overlooks the sustainably-leaning Domaine. This Brut made from a blend of Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Riesling and a 100% Pinot Noir Rosé. The barrel featured in the photo is the oldest oak barrel and was cooper built in their cave 100 years ago. Domaine Allimant-Lauger is one of the original houses present when the Alsace AOP was established in 1962. This Crémant is aged 11 months before disgorgement and is meant to be consumed while fresh and young. In fact, the grapes are the first to be manually harvested because they want them to keep their youthfulness and coolness through citrus fruits flavors. Alsace is influenced by the Vosges Mountains and is climatically one the driest regions in France. The vineyards are located between 200-400 meters along the foothills of the Vosges Mountains. There they take advantage of south and southeastern exposure in their semi-continental climate. There are 13 distinct terroir’s providing the foundations for seven major grapes. Soils found here include granite, limestone, schist, sandstone as well as others. Additional photos are of, the Domaine and one of their vineyards used in the production of this Crémant d'Alsace.

The ever consistent #Cremant #wine. Delicate salmon color. Faint aroma of white cherry, white flower, fine chalk. Flavor is bolder. Smooth, rounded delicate watermelon, white cherry, slightly peachy. Opened 4/1/17
