A wildly fresh bouquet of violets, lavender, cooling smoke and sugar-dusted blueberries wafts up as the 2021 Pessimist by DAOU unfolds in the glass. It's soft-textured yet energetic in style. Candied citrus hints accentuate cooling mineral tones and crisp wild berry fruits. The 2021 finishes with impressive length yet lightly structured. Deep purple in color; plums, black cherries, graphite, and oak on the nose; high acidity; high tannins; tastes like blackberries, dark fruit, crushed gravel, and herbs with a long finish. I love it, but I think I can find some that are just as good for less. It's developing nicely in the glass. Don't get me wrong, it's really good. Nellie says it's good. Esmi likes it.

First time and more to come. This is a great, robust and full bodied with a bouquet of flavors bursting in mouth. Amazing red blend of interesting varieties making it into a very nice red from Paso Robles.

Bought at Kauai Costco today…tag said 93 rating by one of the big raters. I wouldn’t score it that high at a food truck place in Koloa town. Drank out of cardboard coffee cups. If I had my nice stemware it probably would have scored higher. Under $20. It was OK to open our bottle at the dining tables. No adult beverages sold at any of the 3 food trucks.
