One of the most disappointing first growths I’ve had. Not sure if the 11s need more time, or if they’ll just never come around. Atypically lean vintage of this with a fairly predictable and uninspired aromatic profile.

I have favoured Haut-Brion in blind tastings before, but not this time. This is not the most praised vintage by any means but still. Haut-Brion still comes with some expectations. It’s solid and well made, but fairly closed. There are of course signs of class and aristocracy shining through but too underwhelming at this occasion.

17.5/20 (93+/100) Сложный и насыщенный аромат спелых ягод малины, чёрной смородины, вишни с нотами гвоздики, чёрного шоколада, чёрного трюфеля и мускатного ореха. Высокая кислотность и достаточно интенсивные, ещё суховатые, шелковистые по текстуре танины. Ягодно-шоколадное во вкусе. Абсолютно потрясающее молодое вино. (04.10.2017)
