Arianna Occhipinti Terre Siciliane Il Frappato 2017
Josh Morgenthau
Candied just-ripe black cherries, purple plum and black raspberry, currant leaf. An herb I can’t quite pinpoint... fresh savory or bay? With a hint of earth and kalamata. Brilliant ruby hue, very focused palate of red fruit/ strawberry. Really nice.

Luminous red. Inviting aromas of ripe red cherry, raspberry nectar, cinnamon, and minerals. Fresh and juicy, with lovely inner-mouth perfume to the mineral and sweet, spicy red berry flavors. Finishes long and fragrant. Perhaps not as concentrated as some past Frappatos from this estate, but a lovely wine nonetheless. (Ian D'Agata, Vinous, August 2019)

You know, it was good, but those was wasn’t everything I was hoping for. It smelled a little too volatile for me. Still enjoyed it.
