The 2013 Valtellina Superiore Sassella Riserva Nuova Regina is quite delicate in its first impression. Red fruit, mint, orange peel, rose petals and cinnamon linger on the nose. Ethereal, weightless and classy to the core, the Nuova Regina is not a huge wine, but silky aromatics extend the mid-palate and finish nicely. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, March 2022)

Wow nose. So much smoke, tar and spice. Unreal. Gorgeous perfectly ripe cherries. Layered and super complex. Wow that palate is so soft and elegant. Unreal delicate structure and purity. Wow. So so elegant. But complex as hell. This is stunning. Needs to open but man is it good on the pop and pour. Not a hard edge or a hair out of place. Sick concentration. Such a long, nimble finish. So delicate.

N: Decanted 3 hrs. Very ethereal Rose, tar, tobacco,redflowers. Clear, med light red-brown and deep. Some camphor and woodland( dead leaves). P:Like high Burgundy, delicate w lots of mushroom umami, tomato, definite Italian acidity. A broad mid palate that fills your mouth. 100% High elevation Nebbiolo, avg.50 + yrs. Outrageous!
