Nose full of purple flowers and licorice. Cool black fruit, lots of black pepper and graphite throughout. Good structure and balance, streaky tannins, and an intensity on the finish. Aged only in stainless steel. (Jason Wilson, Vinous, July 2020)

The catch with these Chinon darlings who deliver so damn well is that you must love Cabernet Franc in all it's divisiveness. I do, but my first thought is this can't really be pleasing to everyone. They're astringent and abrasive and not as open armed hey how ya doing as most. Ogla's Les Barnabés is easier to get to know, though, and something I thoroughly enjoyed - one part green and two parts red. Stem, wood chips and cedar and double dose of finger staining wild raspberries.
