Intense. BlackBerry and a touch of tar. Iron and minerality. Dried herbs. Savory and powerful and young. Great

Tasted blind. So what follows, a 91 La Turque served blind of course. Dark tawny and opaque. Notes of black cherries, coffee, iron, mocha, blood sausage. Very masculine and powerful in the mouth. Huge wine. Guessed 1999 Rostaing Cote Blonde Cote-Rotie.

Brought to Zola. Dark reddish tawny. Exotic nose. Notes of earthy cherry, some menthol, dark soil, blueberries, and some great spice. Rich and expansive in the mouth. With 5 hours of air this exploded in the glass. Silky. Love this wine.

Taken to Grasings in Carmel. Decanted and given a few hours of air. Dark tawny. Opaque. Not showing much age. Killer nose. Exotic. Notes of cherry fruit, raspberry, bacon, pepper, blood sausage, some menthol and some wispy herbs. Silky rich in the mouth. Still chewy. With air this explodes. Long finish. Still feels young. Amazing grape juice!
