Deep ruby red with a little bit of garnet on the edges. Layered nose with quite a bit of earthy characteristics such as forest floor, damp earth, a bit stinky with some gamey notes, mushrooms and a tad dusty. Well rounded with balanced acidity and medium tannins (6/10). Very dry throughout with dark cocoa, plums, dried cherries and herbs, pepper, and darker berries. Full bodied with a long finish. Very impressed with this $25.00 bottle. Drink till 2028. (92+)

Super Tuscan blend of 55% Merlot, 22% Cabernet Franc, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Petit Verdot. The appearance is very dark red, raising expectations. On the nose it is rich with dark red fruits. The wine is very concentrated, very smooth (probably the Merlot) with lots of dark fruit, a bit of pepper and other herbs. Great wine!
