Popped and poured; no formal notes. The “Extra Quality” is a silly, old-school sounding designation…but this is sort of an old-school style of Champagne. It was a little “meh” on the first pour; unwilling to show much. However, with some air it opened up and displayed a pleasant balance of fruit and autolytic character. Works a little better with food than an aperitif. Disgorged May of 2022

Nice aroma. Palate is thin. This is lean and overly acidic to my taste.

20% Pinot Noir, 40% Pinot Meunier and 40% Chardonnay. This is a 2011 base wine which was disgorged in April of 2017. Notes forthcoming... 24hr Update: Nose has just-baked bread, crushed walnut, oxidized pear, orange peel and moist limestone. Palate has zingy pear acidity, bitter citrus, toasted brioche and a long minerally finish. Bubbles have held strong after one day.
