Eric Sussman first heard the expression radio coteau from a friend while working in Burgundy. Name reflects a commitment to capturing reflections of soil, seasons, people and place. In 2002, Eric established Radio-Coteau. Ruby with fresh fruit aromas with earthy spice scents. On the palate cherry flavors with spicy tea leaf notes, zesty in style. Fine tannins, great mouthfeel texture, lingering ending with and earthy character which you can almost taste the soil. Nice! Something special.

Red cherry, red raspberry, black cherry, a bit too much oak but very tasty and easy drinking.

Gorgeous vintage. Really singing in the 2nd night. First impression was more of bright red fruits, cranberry being the most defined aromatically. More aeration revealed a much broader and darker fruit core of black cherries, with subtle earth components evolving into fresh fennel and mint flavors on the finish. The restraint and elegance is quite evident even in this very concentrated vintage. Oak is barely discernible. About as good as low alcohol New World Pinot Noir gets at this price. Wonderful balance, complexity and character.

Drinks like a Kosta RRV more than anticipated for a Radio Sonoma Coast. Alcohol is technically in check (13.4) but the herbal aromatics give a red herring, leading your nose to traces of alcohol. You will see and feel a flush core of fruit here, that’s mercurial, hiding amongst Sichuan peppercorn. I would give additional bottles more time.

Always wonderful. This has a good acid fruit balance. Look forward to tasting after some time.
