This was great for a spring duck dish. I hate to say it’s light, but it is, in a very pleasing way. The acid drives the show, the mid-palate is lively and shows a light extraction. Bones, no flesh. Pure, limpid, tight. Palate is precise and inviting. Tart cranberry, brook cherry, blood orange, ferns, wet earth, pepper, allspice.

Cherry cola, cranberry, dried floral, a little bolder than expected but gives it a little extra body. Nice acidity that provides for long tasty finish.

Beautiful Sonoma Pinot, but missing some of the electric, acid and herbal tension that I find in my preferred Sonoma Coast wines. Although this wine is still very young, there's no denying that it's bigger and broader than it has been in past vintages. Not necessarily a bad thing - it just puts it in a different box for me.

Basically a Musigny California style in a good way very low 12.7%. A masterpiece! Quite fruit driven nose - forest raspberries. This is just a beautiful wine and in my opinion one of the best Pinot’s made in the US today. Very pale. On the palate raspberry as it opens up Kirsch (cherry). Super well managed acidity. Dark berries back palate. Hint of Cardamon. The first US Pinot I will buy more of this year - 2018.

Somehow this appeared at the end of the night and didn’t feel out of place amongst more refined predecessors. A reminder of how zen the ‘14s are.
