McKinlay Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 2014

$18

The fruit is trending towards blackberry and darker fruits, and the texture is rich and palate-coating. The wine is unfined and unfiltered, which makes for a superior mouthfeel. This is delicious now -- geez, I've consumed a dozen bottles personally in recent weeks -- but there are some tannins there too. If there's an $18 pinot noir you want to cellar for 5-10 years, this is your wine! (In fact, I recently had the 2003 version of this wine - -it was in pristine condition. This bottling ages.)

Crazy. I didn't like this so much the first time I had it. Tonight this is perfect. Earthy and light.

Perfumey and perhaps a bit funky. Well balanced. A good value at $18.

Still a bit young, but nice once it opened up. Great with charcuterie.
