Eben Sadie spent over a decade working in Spain and South Africa simultaneously performing two harvests a year at either Terroir al Limit in the Priorat and Sadie Family Wines in the Swartland.andnbsp; He has since divested from Terroir al Limit to focus on the terroir of his homeland.andnbsp; He is obsessed with trying to display what the Terroir of the Swartland can produce andndash; that means saving ancient bush vines that are abandoned or in danger of being up rooted, supporting regenerative farming and fostering microbial life in his soils, and adapting viticulture to meet the challenges of climate change in South Africa, primarily drought.andnbsp; This is a single vineyard of old bush trained vines planted to 50/50 Chenin Blanc and Palomino Fino.andnbsp; The grapes picked together and co-fermented in worn wood and aged in Foudre.andnbsp; The wine is beautiful andndash; mineral and textured without being weighty andndash; very lively acidity with restrained orchard fruit and a salty cut.
