Corcelette is drawn from 80-year-old Gamay vines planted on sandstone in the Morgon Cru. All of Foillard's wines are intensely aromatic and lush on the palate, but Corcelette always flaunts an extra bit of aromatic potency on a lighter, more lifted frame than the other cuvandeacute;es. We would chalk it up to an obvious attention to organic farming and dedication to harvesting the healthiest fruit possible from this sandy parcel. 2018 is an excellent, impactful Beaujolais vintage and this is a knock-out bottling of Corcelette.andnbsp; Foillard beautifully captured the density and power of the vintage without sacrificing the delicacy of the aromatics - simply masterful! Beautiful now, this might be the most ageworthy bottling of Corcelette that weand#39;ve tasted. Dont be afriad to lay a few down for the years to come.

Nose is dusty with wild purple fruit; maybe a bit muddy. Blackberry, black cherry pie, baking spice and molasses on the palate. Salty and umami. A solid effort, but shows the 2018 heat.

Yes, ‘18 was a warm vintage and this wine reflects that. It’s ripe and rich, but it wears it well: black plum, cassis, licorice, dark clay, violets. Doesn’t feel hot ever. Foillard’s silky tannins are more velvety. Maybe not the most nuanced and elegant vintage but still a great wine with depth and the most sublime mouthfeel.
