Fuck me! Why did I open this again. So crazily delicious. My go-to Barolo producer.

A Barolo to find and hold. Picture perfect in the decanter (3hrs). A Sunday wine, like a perfectly braised lamb shoulder. Getting better as it breathes. The nose is all Barolo. Complex dark fruit. Spice. Pepper. Cherries. It attacks the palate and then immediately softens with a blackberry finish that leaves the perfect amount of heat behind. The tannins are integrated and silky and suggestive of a long life ahead. This minuscule production wine is amazing and you should fight to find it. I was sad when we finished the bottle.

Fk. Mind blown 2.0. Layers of red fruit punches you in the face, with floral and earthy notes interweaved in between, ending with a touch of VA. The tannins are unreal. So silky. Can't wait to try this again in 10 years time.

opened for 18 hours before enjoying this with a very elegant preparation of duck breast and thigh. No decant. It evolved quite a bit over those 18 hours. At times it was locked up, others it was bloody and often had soaring rose aromatics. This was so tannic that I feared it would overpower the food, but the two worked together splendidly. Probably a better pairing than the Burg, which took me by surprise. Obviously built to last many decades.
