Domaine Majas was founded by Alain Carrere in 1992, a time when the Cotes Catalanes was being buffeted by change and increasingly was seen as a source for inexpensive bulk wine. A chance encounter with Tom Lubbe, the proprietor of the legendary Domaine Matassa, allowed Alain to see another path forward and fostered a partnership between the two growers. With Tom's guidance, Alain was able to forge Domaine Majas into what we know it as today; a dependable source of soulful wines made form organic fruit available at unbelievable prices. Majas Cotes Catalanes Blanc is a blend of Macabeu, Rolle, and Carignan Blanc that sports warm fruit, silky body, and surprising lift and freshness for a southern French white. Fermented with indigenous yeast, aged on the lees in concrete, bottled unfined and unfiltered.
