A beautiful bouquet, the aromas rise with an easy whirl of the glass. The palate is delicious, this wine is in a great stage of drinking right now with another 7-10 years easy. Lots of Cabernet character comes through with cherry, cassis and currants leading the way with minerality and spice tempering the fruit. Plush but refined, this has solid length with ample acidity and silky, ripe tannin. A long fruit and terroir laden finish. #stjulien #delon #bordeaux

Bordeaux prices continue to soar out of reach. The 1st grows are $500 in mediocre vintages and 2nd's are over $200 in banner years. I have resorted to 2nd labels of the general classifications. Though it is a distant cousin to Chateau Leoville Las Cases (my favorite vineyard), this elegant red brings a bouquet of fruit forward, but lacks structure. The finish is light; perhaps 10 years was too long in the bottle. I bought for under $50, not worth the current $75 price tag. Cheers!

A little compact and shy, has all the makings to be another few points better.

Bordeaux. It's good to drink the classics too.

This is why you buy Bordeaux wines, put them in your cellar, and forget about them for 10-15 years. Outstanding!

I’d rather be drinking a Leoville, of course. But this seems more sensible with pizza.

A bit disappointed in this bottle. It was all over the place and never reallly came together. Hoping it’s an off bottle as I’ve usually liked this for the price point.
