Vigna Elena from the Elvio Cogno winery is truly a unique Barolo from a storied estate. It is the only Barolo made entirely with Nebbiolo Rosandeacute;, a distinct variety that is lighter in color with more pronounced perfume and a distinct spice tone on the nose.andnbsp; Elvio Cogno has staunchly defended the quality of this cultivar long before it became trendy to do so. His wines haveandnbsp;been astutely traditional since he founded the winery in 1990, and his ideals are now carried on by his son-in-law, Valter Fissore.The farming has been certified organic since 2009.

Perfumed and well knit, all of this in a harmonious package of flowers, earth, spice, acid, and tannins. A Nebbiolo clone, Rosé, with only 1 hectare grown. Delicious. The ‘14 was ready with a two hour decant.
