This great wine displays a distinctive rich nose that has wonderful aromatic complexity. On the palate, the Cabernet Sauvignon reveals lovely floral aromas in the first year then, as the wine ages, great structure on the palate. The Cabernet Franc brings lots of freshness in the tannins, and the Merlot contributes roundness and flesh. The attack on the palate is clean, the texture is silky, and the complexity elegant. The characteristic freshness of FIGEAC is underpinned by great length of flavour. With its long ageing potential, the wine goes on in time to reveal hints of forest floor, leather, cigar-box and liquorice -always with its hallmark elegance.

Heaven in a bottle. The 1/3 blends of Cab, Can Franc and Merlot arrived at a beautiful juncture of ever evolving tastes and smells. Served with a perfectly grilled porterhouse. The last slurp was just a bowl full of black cherries. #memorymoment

An exception for the right bank, Figeac is composed of 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Cabernet Franc and only 30% Merlot. My favorite of the right bank flight, and a serious contender for wine of the night! The Figeac was natural, effortless claret that had a lovely herbal bouquet with hints of both olives and chocolate. This had the complexity, but also the drinkability that makes me want to spend more time and drink more of it. It was flawless texturally; layered, medium bodied and fresh and lifted on the back end. Lots of flavor and complexity can be had here without any cost to freshness… But your wallet will feel it! What a bottle!

Awesome. Smokey, leathery, complex and deep. Palate is elegant and silky. Such nice balance. Will 15+ more years but def in its window now.

Stuffed full of funk. Briney olives, freshly butchered meat, violets and plum. Palate staining. Bringing it!

Can't imagine a more perfect St Emillion. Embodies nearly everything I want in a big Bordeaux. Still thinking about this wine.

Maybe it's just me, but these 2000s skew so savory and beautiful, another gorgeous gift as I reimmerse myself in classic wine.
