Very Un-new worldy, young but great, northern Rhone tendencies. South Africa is on the right track with wines such as this

A good steak is screaming for some Syrah. Great mix of dark & red fruit, violets, pepper and black olive on the nose. Nice finish with a tar component on the back end. Strong showing, well done @Chris Mullineux & @Andrea Mullineux! Thx @Hendrik Thoma for the tip!

This South African Syrah is pricey for the country's wines but it doesn't disappoint. Much like a Northern Rhone style -- packed with fruit, acid and spice in just the right balance.

Very Cornas in character with black olives on the nose and smooth tannins. Drinking well.
