So dense and earthy for this grape... dead ringer for high quality Cote-Rotie ... finally get to enjoy this legend!

The 2007 Emidio Pepe is gorgeous. Dark in profile, black fruit, tar, herbs. Long finish. Very focused and a baby at 12 years. Stunning.

Funky in really way, lots of sediment, so beautiful expressive, cries out for food, but isn't necessary, great wine.

What a treat. Soft supple tannins. Slightly lifted fruit, well integrated with the earthy aromas.

This is a deep and soulful wine. It showed lots of reduction on day one, but on day two dark and stewed fruit comes to the foreground. Tons of earthy bitterness--very Italian. I don't think this vintage is for the ages, though. Missing some acid and brighter fruit that might carry it along.

Amazing wine experience! If you have never tried an Emidio Pepe wine look up his wine making process. Highly highly recommend trying one his old school classic wines! Decanted for 60 min. Initially a bit funky but that diminished over time. It has a great nose and very hard to describe over than funky with some cherries. Earth, sour cherry, and a bit of leather on the palate. This is truly incredible wine experience and well worth seeking out!
