Mid lemon in colour with a fine mousse. Strong yeasty notes touch of Vegemite with Lemon Citrus. On the palate Mineral and over ripe apple - a reasonably powerful creamy palate but retains its balance - a touch of salinity. Wonderful complexity after 7 years on lees and from the excellent 2008 vintage in Champagne. See previous notes from Christmas Day 2018. One of the 1001 Wines.

Valentine's Day 2020 Wow 2008 power & grace...Recently baked bread, oxidized citrus, limestone rubble on a warm day, Atlantic breeze, baked pear, finish that just goes, and goes, and goes...harmonious.

Brilliant showing. Brioche, toast, mineral, so elegant, so pure. What a nose. So airy yet so yeasty. Elegant, huge acids, so fine. So pure. Rich. But so fresh. Perfectly judged dosage. A great wine.

Immersion Project by Drappier. A bit more salty than usual bottles.

Christmas Day Fizz. A new Cuvée for me from the highly touted 2008 vintage. 55% Pinot Noir, 45% Chardonnay. Difficult to do disciplined notes on Christmas Day but the family liked it. Light on its feet but plenty of refreshment, and power from the Pinot Noir.

This 55% Pinot Noir and 45% Chardonnay is well balanced. But is not as light or as delicate as many Tête Cuvée’s are. I would not kick it out of bed though.

A delicious and excellent #Champagne the balance between body, sweetness and acidity was perfect. It has lovely aromas. A touch of autolysis, cream and light creme brûlée and pineapple. #drappier

I was looking for something a bit richer in style than usual, and this definitely did the trick. Still super clean and precise on the nose, but a touch of citrus oil and loads of ripe citrus. Focused acidity, and a finish that paired well with slightly spicy chicken.
