Notes forthcoming... 24hr Update: Nose has just-baked bread, crushed walnut, oxidized pear, orange peel and moist limestone. Palate has zingy pear acidity, bitter citrus, toasted brioche and a long minerally finish. Bubbles have held strong after one day.

Delicious celebratory Champagne for gently coming off of a 21-day cleanse sans alcohol (amongst many other things as well). On the dense, smoked honey side of things with bruised pome fruit filling the mid. Nice acid and persistence of pear flesh and spice on the finish.

A random bottle of Ployez-Jacquemart Champagne Brut NV found in the back of my fridge, disgorged in '09. Still going strong. Citrus and plenty of acid to accompany a little round fruit. Maybe lacking a little depth.
