Ruby colored with beautiful aromas of strawberry and green pepper accompanied by tobacco and floral notes. Savory on the palate with striking minerality and a tannic structure which should give it a long life although it’s approachable now . A Peter Weygandt selection made by Marc Plouzeau from a parcel of 150+ year-old ungrafted vines in Touraine that escaped phylloxera in the 19th century. 12.5% ABV. $40.

Black cherries and chalk in perfect harmony. Long and structured. Drinking beautifully and just hitting its stride.

2012. Terrific wine. So Pure. Give it some time in a decanter and as it unwinds, it starts to show the Chambolle side of Cab Franc.

Similar flavor profile to the 07 but more piercing and longer in the mouth. WOTN for me. Thanks again @Warren L .

Very pretty and complete. This was in the ready to drink zone. A perfect mix of sweet dark fruit and chalky savory notes.

Kind of a tannic beast. Tried over two days. Never really gave much. Probably opened prematurely but a bit of a disappointment.

Wow. Amazing on day 2 (day 1 was dark red fruit and a lot of red bell pepper) with a nose that was like a raft of strawberry, raspberry and a bit of boysenberry with more subtle tones of bell pepper, tobacco and earth. No noticeable wood, ample acidity but not austere. Hits a sweet spot for Cab Franc. For history, quality, QPR - will take this over Rougeard any day.

I need more cab franc in my collection. Love the clean, bright chalkiness and pure forrest fruit flavors in this wine.

As texturally beautiful a wine I've had in a while. Also thumbs up from wife, who has no special love for either savory cab franc or blowsy domestic versions. By far the best Loire Franc de Pied out there.
