This was purchased by Jeanne Marie de Champs, longtime agent of Meo-Camuzet who sent it on to Jean-Nicolas to finish and age. Aux Vignerondes is a rarely seen vineyard. It is on the Vosne-Romanee side of Nuits St. George, nestled between Les Bousselots and Aux Murgers, combining the softer, rounder character of Bousselots and the almost Vosne-like finesse of Murgers. Meo-Camuzet, of course, produces one of the most famous and sought after expressions of Aux Murgers (at nearly twice the price, by the by) which, with its supple power, seems to suit the Camuzet style exactly. Tending towards the darker end of the red fruit spectrum, with curves, not edges, there is a sensuality present in all of Meo-Camuzets wines which can be utterly intoxicating.
