Friday night and I have opened the 2017 Hirsch Vineyards San Andreas Fault Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir. The nose reveals good fruit of cherry, raspberry, strawberry, cinnamon, spice, vanilla, rose petal, a touch of oak, mushroom, wet leaves and forest floor. On the palate there is wonderful notes of cherry, ripe strawberry, red & black raspberry, spice, cinnamon, herbs, light oak and earthy forest floor. This wine is medium bodied, very well balanced with medium + acidity and medium to + mouth coating soft chewy tannins that leaves you with a long juicy fruit earthy finish. Did everyone have a wonderful week? I sure hope so and I would love that this weekend is going to be safe and healthy for everyone. Nostrovia!

San Andeas..creeping into some darker red fruit, def more to offer than the first. This is a blend of all the vineyards...I felt all the wines had a gorgeous minty/pine needle aroma with spice that carried thru..

Good wine but not as highly regarded as the pros have rated. A bit light (a step up from burgundy village) for my taste. Had with salmon with chickpea mash and spinach.

Opened this with a take-out meal from Commis featuring duck breast. Really delightful, light and vibrant.

A bit more body, richer fruit density. Day 2 getting a more old world Burgundian style showing through.
