Actually pretty amazing! Aged SB aromas and flavors with dried herbaceous additions, tart lemony acidity and a core of papaya fruit. Lively and individual, this is not at all tired, and tastes like something ambitious from Fruili!

Always surprised by older whites. Oaky, popcorn, toast. Pretty darn good ...

Old school. Grassy, touch of jalapeño.

APPEARANCE Clear, medium lemon green color intensity. NOSE Clean, medium+ intensity of goosberry, lemon curd, and granite minerality, fully developed nose PALATE Dry, medium+ acidity, medium body and medium+ alcohol, medium flavor intensity of gooseberry, pineapple, lemon citrus, and cream. The oak is apparent on the body, adding to the weight of the wine's body. The flavor of the oak is well integrated as it really only becomes detectable on the finish after the fruit has faded from the taste. CONCLUSIONS Very good quality, the oak is well integrated and adds to the entire character of the wine instead of dominating it., Ready to drink now, further bottle aging will not benefit this wine, Mid-priced

Golden color. Beautiful. Nose is elegant with anise/apple skin stuff. Flavor is excellent for an 11 year old white. Lemon bars and fancy mineral water. It’s dry, but it has a melon and peach streak. Like citrus peels and peaches.

2013 vintage. This 100 percent Sauvignon Blanc was grown in the winery’s organic American Canyon and Carneros vineyards, then fermented on native yeast in a mix of 900-gallon foudres and used oak barrels. The wine aged on lees in neutral oak for six months. Green citrus, green melon, jasmine, and a slight savoriness keynote the aroma profile. The body offers melon and passion fruit, while refreshing lime citrus and bass notes of white tea and ginger enliven the finish. 14.1% abv | $30 (sample)
