The first vines of Lebanons Chateau Musar were planted in 1930, after its founder Gaston Hochar, entranced by the wine of Bordeaux, wanted to return a bit of that magic to his home country. Since then Musar has become the standard bearer of great wines coming from The Levant, and those original vines still bear fruit for the estates top wines, sought after by connoisseurs the world over. This March, we will have the privilege of opening up several of these top wines, with a library vintage seminar of the Musar Rouge going back 30 years! The seminar will be lead by Josh Bosstick of Broadbent Selections, one of the countrys top wine importers and the first and only ever importer of Chateau Musar. Josh had this to say at the prospect of attending such a tasting,I work for Broadbent Selections, a wine importer whos very soul is defined by Chateau Musar. The Chateau has been with the company since the very beginning. The history, tradition and wine-making philosophy of Musar is what we look for when deciding the other wines to import. It sets the bar.Musar, in many ways, is the reason I am in the wine business. Serge Hochar, one of the greatest wine personalities, who often spoke philosophically about wine said it best: It [wine]was indirectly an answer to the mystery of existence.'' They are some of the greatest gifts the wine world has to offer!''The following vintages of the Musar Rouge will be opened at the seminar:200920042001199819951988As always, the seminar will be opened with complementary sparkling wine and cheeses to accompany the wines will be present throughout the evening.
