Merlot was king in 2012, balanced wine drinking well now with plenty of vanilla, raspberries, truffle and spice. Smooth with soft tannins and a light, spicy, leathery sweetness. This is really nice Bordeaux from an underrated vintage.

An interesting 28yr old. Cork was 1/2 dry and broke. Managed to get the other half out. Gentle decant. The first sip was intense funk, but it quickly mellowed with air and is now showing such pretty dried fruits and some leather and chocolate notes, as well a some root vegetables and pepper. I really enjoy how a well aged Bordeaux can be exciting as it changes in your glass over a few hrs. More about the Hartford later.

Nice colour for an old vintage Barnyard giving way to classic Bordeaux nose. Dark fruit and hint of chocolate Still good tannins and well rounded but finish is a bit short.

Surprisingly light bodied Boudreaux. Tannins has softened almost too much. Beautiful on the nose and palate. Lacked a bit complexity
