Beautiful aromatic. Still juicy and young and vibrant. Even a bit tight. 10 more years.

The best bottle of the 1971 I have ever had. Tremendous fruit intensity, power and depth, with none of the barnyard flavors that afflict many bottles. What fine, aged Barolo from this era is all about. Superb.

Soft, expansive and open. Pretty red fruit and roses, leather notes, tobacco, iron and black tea. Lovely stuff and drinking really well now

1997: Surprisingly fresh, supple and medium bodied. On the early side, yet engaging with a round mouth feel. Hold for now.

Definitely needs air. Plums, red currant, motor oil, soy, slightly lovage, typical rose petals and balsamic flavours. High acidity, resolved tannins, potential for 5-10 years easily.

Such a disconnect between the wet cardboard and oxidized nose and the warm full mouthfeel. I feel there was a flaw here but not enough to kill what must have been an especially transcendent wine at some point.
