Patrick Piuze Terroir de Chablis Chardonnay 2016

Aromatically closed at first, opening up very gradually. Fairly austere fruit component, lots of salt-preserved lemon character. Not lacking in concentration, just tight and yet to fully reveal fruit. But the minerality is bracing and lends the wine a certain purity. Needs another year in bottle.

Citrus, grapefruit pith, petrichor / lighter on the body that better crus, but with an appealingly sharp acidity

Was better the second day - seems these could use some more time.

Steely, crisp, medium bodied, a bit tart and dry. Good pairing with creamy pasta, pizza, fish stew.

Tight and acidic as fuck. Opened up after 40 mins in the bottle. Brilliant gold. Great value at ~25$ a bottle.

This was a delight. Very young but not too green. Superb minerality for a Chablis, it’s very lean, very pure never heavy like Chablis can be. I want now to taste older ones.
