This is my second time trying this wine from the 2017 vintage. Unfortunately, the setting for the first experience wasn’t conducive to taking notes but I recalled liking it a lot. That first experience excited me for this second opportunity; with time to enjoy and reflect. It all started the way a remember: loads of dark, tart, almost roasted cherry fruit with tar and scorched earth on the nose. On the palate, somewhat muted cherry fruit, bone dry with fairly punchy tannins. And then...on the finish...after about two seconds...oh no...it’s mousy. It’s all biscuity and mealy and it won’t go away. Day 2 was no better. One of the pitfalls of natural winemaking rears it’s ugly head again. I refuse to rate since I categorize this as a flaw and I don’t recall this from the last bottle...which is a little weird
