Lucien Albrecht Brut Crémant d'Alsace Sparkling Blend NV

Ratings on Delectable

Sipping Fine Wine Delectable Pro

Lucien Albrecht pioneered Crémant production in 1971 and helped gain an Appellation Contrôlêe for the wine and for Alsace. Pale lemon color, fine bubbles with a light creamy mousse and aromas of fresh stone fruit with biscuit scents. On the palate ripe apple, citrus and peachy flavors with nice mineral tones, dry with vivid acidity. Lingering finish with good balance ending with fruit, slight mineral and yeast tang. Excellent value as a Champagne alternative! Consistent quality.

Earthy, minerality, chalky. Fun French bubbles. Nice acid, would like more fruit to show through

Light aromas of pear with a touch of a sulfur note. I was thinking non-vinifera drinking blindly. Seems a little unremarkable with a short, simple finish.

Fine pearly mousse with aromas of apricot, freshly cut birch wood, laurel, lime leaf, biscuit. Clean and fresh on the palate with quiet citrus and a finish of yellow peach. 80% pinot auxerrois, 10% pinot blanc, 10% chardonnay. 12% abv (sample)

It’s certainly not going to blow your mind but it’s a solid Cremant. Seems almost like it was bottled at too low pressure, as it’s definitely fizzy but the mousse is a little too creamy for my taste. Has a nice mellow lemon curd on toast flavor going on, but that’s about it. Body: Medium Acidity: High Typicity: Medium+ millennialwinegeek.com

Crisp and clean. Lemon zest and lees. This Cremant is a solid budget substitute for non-vintage Champagnes.
